Aplicativo Identificador de Cédulas para Apoio ao Ensino do Sistema Monetário Brasileiro a Pessoas com Deficiência Visual

The Brazilian monetary system is recommended content for elementary education. However, there are no technological resources available to help in teaching the subject to visually impaired students. Thus, this paper proposes the development of a mobile application to identify banknotes and to support the teaching of this theme in schools. The development was iterative and involved prototype testing with users. The coding uses the ORB algorithm for point detection and banknote comparison. Preliminary results indicate that the application is considered satisfactory by users because, in addition to supporting teaching, can also be useful in routine activities. The time to identify a banknote is the greatest limitation of the developed mobile application.
